It occurs as native gold or electrum in inclusions within mineralogical assemblages of galena, gray copper, chalcopyrite, and arsenopyrite, and is defined by an “Au-Ag-Cu-As-Sb” assemblage. Annual gold production over the last five years has fluctuated between 3,500 and 4,500 ounces/troy, with an average grade of 0.05 g/t, becoming increasingly important within the production chain of the Cerro Lindo mining unit. Therefore, this study sought to characterize the behavior of Au in a bimodal felsic VMS deposit, where Au is not a primary element, and therefore, many of us in our exploration campaigns downplay its importance, unaware of the added value it can bring throughout our production. Through this work, we want to showcase this new methodology based on a more comprehensive vision, where geological knowledge leads us to increase the value of our deposits.
